how do you find these amazing southern women in oregon? I think I've met maybe one southern guy, from Baton Rouge, in the check-out line at Fred Meyer. He heard me talking to my son and recognized my accent. I sometimes sell on last thursday, I'm gonna have to say hey to Lynette. And Drive by Truckers are so rad!!
Lynette was actually my friend in Mississippi. We worked at a newspaper together. She moved here first.
Otherwise, every Southern woman I know here I know from college or from a friend of a friend somehow. My friend Neola plans to host a Mississippi picnic, though, with people in Portland who migrated from Mississippi.
Lynette would love it if you said hey to her, though!
